Garage Door Repair in Cincinnati, OH
Cincinnati is built on hills, and its garages are built into them. That single fact shapes most of the work we do here.

A great many Cincinnati homes have the garage tucked under the house or dug into the slope, with a driveway that runs down to meet it. Those garages are partly below grade, which means they hold damp air, and the driveway funnels every bit of rain and meltwater straight at the door.
Standing water at the threshold is the constant here. It rots the bottom of a wood jamb, rusts the bottom section from the inside, and in winter freezes the door to the slab. Where a flat-driveway house gets water once, a hillside house gets it every time it rains.
Freeze-thaw does more damage than deep cold
Cincinnati spends a good part of the winter hovering around freezing rather than well below it. Each crossing of that line is another expansion cycle in the wood, the concrete and the masonry. Over a decade it is what takes a jamb apart, and it is why so many replacements here start with rebuilding the frame.

Straight answers
My garage is under the house and always damp. Does that matter?
It does. Damp air plus road salt is hard on steel, and it rusts the inside of the bottom section where you never look. Better ventilation helps, and on replacement we would push you toward a door and hardware chosen for that environment.
Water runs down my driveway to the door. What actually fixes it?
Drainage first if it can be done, and a properly sized bottom seal or threshold seal if it cannot. A door will not hold back a driveway acting as a channel, but the right seal keeps the water out of the garage and stops the door freezing down.
