Garage Door Repair in Cleveland, OH
Cleveland has some of the oldest housing stock we work on anywhere in Ohio, and the snow that comes off the lake tests every bit of it.

A large share of Cleveland’s west side, Ohio City, Tremont, Detroit Shoreway and Lakewood just over the line, was built before 1940, with narrow detached garages that open onto an alley rather than a driveway. Those garages get no heat, no shelter and, critically, nowhere convenient to put snow.
What happens next is the defining Cleveland repair. Snow gets piled against the door, melts slightly during the day, runs under the bottom seal and refreezes at night. The door is now bonded to the concrete. Someone hits the button in the morning and the opener pulls against a door that will not move.
Lake effect is not the same as regular snow
The snowbelt running east from the city takes far more than the west side does, and it arrives fast. Several feet in a few days is a load nobody plans for, and the salt and brine used to keep those roads open comes home on the car and sits on your bottom section and hardware every night all winter.

Straight answers
My door is frozen to the driveway. What do I do?
Stop pressing the opener, because that is what breaks things. Break the ice seal first with warm water along the bottom or a heat gun kept moving, then lift the door by hand and clear the water so it cannot refreeze tonight.
Why does my bottom panel rust out before anything else?
Road salt. It arrives on the car, drips off in the garage and sits against the bottom section every night. Rinsing the bottom of the door a few times over the winter genuinely extends its life.
Can you get to the east side snowbelt during a storm?
Usually, but tell us the conditions when you call. We would rather give you an honest window than promise an hour and not make it.
